 Dennis A. Dergan passed away Friday, January 8, 2010 at his home in Valley Springs at the age of 66 years. He was born July 1, 1943 to Harold and Bernice (Seim) Dergan in New Haven, CT. Dennis married Betty on August 20, 1994 at their home in Discovery Bay, CA. He enjoyed sports, was a Nebraska Cornhuskers fan, coached soccer for 29 years, and taught children from six years old and up to Olympic development athletes. Dennis was a U. S. Marine veteran and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Betty Dergan of Valley Springs; children, Martin Dergan of Discovery Bay, Melissa Leiser of Valley Springs, Eric Dergan of Discovery Bay, Cindy Reading of Valley Springs, Karen Vernon of Tracy, Lenette Franklin of Newark; grandchildren, Mykayla Leiser, Emma Leiser, Christopher Franklin, Haley Franklin; cousins, Steven Seim, Dianne Barker, and David Gubbles all of Hartington, NE.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service Saturday, January 30 at 2:00 P.M. at Good Samaritan Community Covenant Church, 4684 Baldwin St., Valley Springs. Inurnment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Amador and Calaveras Counties, P.O. Box 595, Jackson, CA 95642.
