Carlton Berry died Monday, January 11, 2010. Carl ton Berry was born in Sheldon Junction, Vermont, on December 4, 1921. In 1942, after Pearl Harbor, he enlisted in the Navy and served in World War II. Carl is survived by his wife, Helen Barry, of Paloma, children, Jeanne Dye of Reno, Lila Grover of Plymouth, Richard Berry of Placerville, Jason Berry of Paloma, Rex Berry of San Andreas, George (Teddy) Berry of Stockton, Lorriane (Lorry) Weatherby of Mokelumne Hill, Jennifer Berry of Mountain Ranch, Lynne Silva of Oakley, and Carleton M. Berry II (Carl) of Elk Grove, stepson Jim Harrison of San Andreas, 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The mother of Jason, Rex, Teddy, Lorry, Jennifer, Lynne and Carl II, is Rita Berry of Valley Springs. A memorial service was held at the San Andreas Covenant Church on Monday, Jan. 18 at 1 p.m with a reception that followed at the San Andreas Veterans Hall. Donations can be made to the San Andreas Veterans Post 2600.
