Olga Delane Vance Taylor Smith passed peacefully in her sleep, at age 92, surrounded by loved ones at 9:03 P.M. On January 27, 2010. Olga was born in Albany, Missouri in 1918 and migrated to California with her parents in the year 1938. She designed and created original women's fashions, which attracted many prestigious clients.

When Olga met and married Colonel Willard F. Smith in 1961, she moved to Santa Maria, California with her two children, eager to blend her family with her husband's. In 1964, while living in the community of Santa Maria, Olga and her husband Bill, with the support of their four children, fulfilled the need for local teens' to find a place for good, clean, safe fun; and a way to give back to the community. The Pacific Coast Teen Club was created, and has left a long lasting legacy to the teens of that era.

During her time in Santa Maria, she was noted for her artistry in China painting and was honored with several awards for their artistry. Also during this time, she was active in the Loyal order of the Eastern Star and remained dedicated to this fraternity for over 70 years.

Olga loved to go fishing. She and her family spent many vacations at their cabin in Lake Nacimiento, California. In 1970, she and Bill moved to Portland, Oregon, where they could continue their passion for fishing. They became adoptive parents to a number of wild geese and ducks.

In 1984, Bill passed, and Olga continued to live in Portland until she relocated to Pine Grove, California, to spend her days with family, fishing and enjoying the wildlife. She lived there with her daughter Nadine Smith Davis, and her husband, Dwayne Davis, until her passing. Olga fulfilled her life long dream of cruising Alaska in her 90th year. She had the time of her life!

Olga is survived by Cynthia Taylor and Nadine Davis, daughters, Patrick Smith, son, Cher Taylor, wife of deceased son, Gregory Taylor. Olga was grandmother to six, and great grandmother to sixteen.

It was once said by someone who loved her and knew her well," She's an earth shaker and a ground breaker!"
