John Fagan, Jr., 19, born in Placerville, Ca. on October 22, 1990, died tragically on June 15, 2010 while swimming in the Middle Fork of the Consumnes River. He was swept downstream by a strong current, carrying him into a series of large rapids that carried him to his death.
Johnny, "J.J." Fagan, was a proud graduate of Amador High School and was employed as a cook by Red Hawk Casino since their opening in October 2008. He loved working for the Casino and was very proud to have worked the entire first year without calling in sick or missing a day of work. He also worked with the Gold Rush Little League as an assistant coach and also as an umpire.
John's service was held at the Green Valley Mortuary and Cemetery on June 18th and was attended by over a hundred family members and friends who fondly remembered and loved John for his goodness of heart, his laughter, his warmth and kind-heartedness to everyone and his love of life. Many family members wore sports jersey's for "J.J's" favorite teams the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants and expressed hope that there would be ESPN in heaven! John was a sports enthusiast who whole-heartedly supported his teams and knew the sport "stats" for almost every baseball, basketball and football team and player that you could name. He loved fishing, camping and swimming and golf.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Angela and John Geddis; his father John Fagan, Sr.; his grandparents, Ken and Cheryl Maderazo, Judy Littlefield, and George and Judy Freelen; his half-sister Faith Poor and his brother Jeremy Fagan; step brother Keith Geddis; his aunt and uncles Trey and Tina Freelen, Jill Freelen and Caryn and Tim Meeks; and his cousins, Robbie, Sabrina and her husband Jeremy, Rachel, Danny, Timmy, Jonathon and Emily.
